Zusammenfassung
Es wird über sieben Patienten mit Glaucoma chronicum congestivum berichtet, die bis
zu einem halben Jahr mit Timolol-Augentropfen behandelt werden. Bei allen Patienten
besteht vor der Timololtherapie entweder eine Dekompensation trotz Miotikatherapie
oder diese kann wegen subjektiver Beschwerden nicht weiter durchgeführt werden. Bei
allen sieben Patienten wird eine deutliche Drucksenkung mit Timolol-Augentropfen erreicht,
so dass entweder mit Timolol-Augentropfen allein, oder mit Kombination von Timolol
mit Pilocarpinoder Carbachol-Augentropfen eine befriedigende Druckeinstellung gegeben
war. Ein Patient mit dekompensiertem Glaukom unter Carbachol- und Acetazolamidtherapie
kann mit zusätzlicher Timololapplikation befriedigend eingestellt werden.
Summary
The authors report on seven patients with narrow-angle glaucoma treated for up to
six months with Timolol eye drops. Prior to treatment with Timolol the patients' eyes
had remained unregulated despite miotics therapy, or it had been impossible to continue
with miotics due to subjective intolerance. Timolol eye drops achieved a significant
lowering of pressure in all seven patients and satisfactory pressure stabilization
was achieved either with Timolol eye drops alone or in combination with pilocarpine
or Carbachol eye drops. In one patient who had unregulated glaucoma and who was on
Carbachol/acetazolamide therapy, satisfactory stabilization was achieved by additional
application of Timolol.
